The Honest Ingredient Transparency Report: What's Really in Every MoodWell Shift Product
Functional coffee as a category has a trust problem: a lot of brands lean on vague terms like "proprietary blend" or "superfood complex" instead of telling you what's actually in the bag. We'd rather over-explain than under-explain. This is the complete, honest ingredient breakdown of every product in the Shift Collection — what's in it, what's not, and why we made the choices we made.
What's In Every Shift Coffee (The Shared Base)
All three Shift coffees — HUSTLE, RESTORE, and CALM — share the same foundation:
- Single-Origin Arabica Instant Coffee — high-altitude Papua New Guinea beans, freeze-dried to preserve flavor.
- Butterfly Pea Flower — the pH-reactive pigment responsible for every color shift in the collection. Zero artificial dye.
- Two functional mushrooms, specific to each formula (detailed below).
- A Bloom Sachet, specific to each formula, that triggers the second half of the color shift.

What's NOT In Any Shift Coffee
Equally important: across all three products, we don't use added sugar, artificial colors or dyes, artificial flavors, or a hidden "proprietary blend" that obscures exact ingredients. Every active ingredient is named on the label and in our product descriptions — nothing is bundled into an unlabeled complex.
What We Can and Can't Tell You
In the interest of real transparency rather than performative transparency: we do not currently publish third-party Certificate of Analysis (CoA) lab results or exact milligram dosing for each functional mushroom on our public product pages. That's common across much of the functional coffee category, but we think it's worth naming plainly rather than implying a level of disclosure we don't yet provide. If granular dosing and CoA transparency matters to your purchase decision, that's a completely reasonable thing to ask a brand for — any brand, including us.
Allergen and Dietary Information
All Shift Collection products are gluten-free, vegan, and non-GMO. Each pouch contains 15 servings and comes with 15 matching Bloom Sachets.
